Our Story
Established in 2011, Pono Acres is a mutual dream that started when an Oregon country girl met a Californian surfer at the University of Oregon in 1986. They shared a love of music and pizza splurges underneath parked semis in the rain. Since Brian had never mowed a lawn and Amy could do just about anything, somehow they thought buying some land and adding over 90 animals to a family of 6 would be relaxing. While the learning curve has been steep, life on the farm has been rewarding. There is never a dull moment and they spend a lot of time feeding hungry mouths and picking up poop of all sizes.
Seeing all the animals get along peacefully is what led to the name Pono Acres. Pono is the Hawaiian word for harmony with nature. The property is constantly evolving and each time you visit, you may see something new.
